Item Description

In between a checkered past and a fairytale future, a decision awaits.

Brad Cutler, twenty-eight, is a rising star at his New York ad agency, about to marry the girl of his dreams. Anyone would agree he has it all—a great career, a beautiful and loving fiancée, and a fairy tale life ahead of him … when memories of a high school girlfriend begin to torment him. Lost innocence and one very difficult choice flood his conscience, and he is no longer sure what the future will bring except for this: He must find his old love and make amends. Haunted by the past and confused about the future, he turns to God seeking forgiveness and redemption.

Three people must work through the repercussions of a decision made long ago before any of them can look toward a new future.

About the Author
Kingsbury, Karen

Inspirational novelist Karen Kingsbury is becoming known as the "Queen of Clean." Her emotionally-driven dramas are finding a readership seeking riveting, uplifting, and squeaky clean contemporary stories. Month after month, Kingsbury is dominating the Christian Fiction Bestseller Lists with five to seven books simultaneously on the charts.

Prolific and popular, TIME Magazine called Kingsbury the "Nora Roberts of the religious set." Kingsbury has trademarked her brand of writing as Life-Changing Fiction & trade. Letters and e-mails from her readers demonstrate the power of Kingsbury’s gift of teaching relationship principles through storytelling. Daily, she receives notes from readers who have restored a relationship, forgiven a loved one, or sought a life of faith due to something communicated through one of her novels.

Kingsbury is excited about returning to Bloomington, Indiana, and the lives of the Baxter family in her new Firstborn series. "I can hardly wait to bring you the next pieces of these characters lives," she says. "So much lies ahead, so many triumphs and tough times, so much to learn and so many ways in which these characters will be stretched and tested." Kingsbury’s five-book Redemption Series, which originally introduced the Baxter family characters, has sold more than 700,000 copies over the past three years. Two of the Redemption books—Reunion and Rejoice—are nominated for an ECPA Gold Medallion Award this year. Kingsbury has written more than 30 books, including one title made into a CBS "Movie of the Week." She has 2.1 million books in print and is quickly becoming one of America’s favorite inspirational novelists.

Some of Kingsbury’s bestselling titles are Remember, Return, One Tuesday Morning, Oceans Apart, and A Thousand Tomorrows. She has been a finalist in the Romance Writers of America’s RITA competition for the best inspirational fiction. Her title A Time to Dance was selected as the first book in the Women of Faith fiction club. In 2004, she was a finalist for an ECPA Gold Medallion and a Retailers Choice Award. Her novel Gideon’s Gift is scheduled to become a major motion picture in Dec. 2005.

Early in her career, Kingsbury wrote true crime fiction, including Deadly Pretender, which was developed into a CBS television movie. Kingsbury started her career in journalism writing for the Los Angeles Times and LA Daily News, primarily on the sports beat.

Kingsbury is very family-oriented as the mother of six children—three adopted simultaneously from Haiti. Her readers feel a part of the family as Kingsbury updates them in every book with the latest news about her husband Donald, their daughter Kelsey and the five boys—Tyler, Sean, Josh, E.J., and Austin. Kingsbury and her family live in Washington.
