God Makes the World
Genesis 1:1-5,9-11, 14, 16-17
In the beginning God created the sky and the earth. The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit was moving over the water.
Then God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light. God saw that the light was good. So he divided the light from the darkness. God named the light “day” and the darkness “night.”…
Then God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered together soothe dry land will appear.” And it happened. God named the dry land “earth.” He named the water that was gathered together “seas.” God saw that this was good. Then God said, “Let the earth produce plants. Some plants will make grain from seeds. Others will make fruit with seeds in it. Every seed will produce more of its own kind of plant.” And it happened….
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night….
So God made the two large lights. He made the brighter light to rule the day. He made the smaller light to rule the night. He also made the stars. God put all these in the sky to shine on the earth.
Sweet Dream Devotion
Are you ready for sleep, little Princess? Okay, close your eyes. Are they shut tightly? What can you see? It’s very dark, isn’t it? It was even darker when God decided to make our world. So the first thing God said was, “Let there be light!” and the darkness disappeared? Lit a million sparkling jewels, the earth began to take shape as God spoke it into being. Water separated from sky. The sun and moon were put into place. Plants, animals, and the first people appeared. It was just how God wanted it to be everything was perfect in his care. Do you know that you are always in Gods care? God would never take his eyes off his little Princess, now would He?
So, if you are ever afraid of the dark, don’t be! God sees just as well in the dark as he does the light. He holds you close to his heart in the day and the night. So, sweet dreams princess!
Promise
God made everything, even me! He knows just how to take care of me.
